passed away in the company of her longtime companion Marjorie Newton, on December 3, 2017, one month shy of her 100th birthday. She was the only child of David Richter and Minnie Binnard Richter. She attended Julia Richmond High School in New York City, and later went to Washington University in St. Louis. In her sophomore year, she fell in love with her to-be husband, Philip Rosenblatt, MD. Miriam returned to NYC during the depression to help her parents financially. With her beautiful blue eyes, blond hair, and statuesque physique, she became a model for high-end lingerie and fur coats. After marriage, she took care of her parents and her two children, volunteered at Temple Israel of Jamaica, served as a Board member of the Jamaica Estates Association, and expanded her education by taking courses at the Hebrew Union College and the local community college. She was Bat Mitzvah'ed in her 50's and was proud to be a full-fledged member of the Jewish community. She travelled across many continents, always amazing the locals with her willingness to hop on a camel or hike a difficult trail, all while beautifully coiffed and appointed. After Phil's death in 1989, Miriam married Jesse Comenetz. After his death, Miriam met Irving Solov, who became her companion for many years until his death in 2009. Having lived a full life, Miriam succumbed to Alzheimer's disease. She is survived by her son William (Elyse), daughter Teresa (Gary), daughter-in-law Peggy, grand children Rachel (John), Steven (Laura), Benjamin and Joshua, and great-grand- daughter Ava Rose. Services being held through Schwartz Brothers Chapel at The Ferncliff Cemetery on December 6, 2017 at 10:30am.
