We mourn the loss of our dear friend Nola Safro, 76. An extraordinarily creative woman, her life was filled with adventure and warm friendships. A passionate lover of theater, film, travel and fine food, Nola was the quintessential New Yorker. Born in Weehawken, New Jersey and educated at Douglass College, she moved to New York City to study acting at The Neighborhood Playhouse and stayed, working first at WNET and for most of her career as a producer for ABC's 20/20. Nola's wit and warmth were legendary, and her friendships were fierce and long lasting. She was the rare woman who expressed her firm opinions with an open heart, always welcoming others into her circle. Her vibrant presence will be sadly missed. Service at Plaza Jewish Community Chapel, 630 Amsterdam Avenue on Tuesday, March 6, at 2pm.
