CHARBIN--Paul G.

(1933--2017), died peacefully on November 1st at home in East Hampton, NY. Paul was born on November 5, 1933 in Norwich, CT to Andre Charbin and Simone Eymard. He graduated from Princeton in 1955, where he majored in Engineering, although his true love were the arts, literature, and philosophy. Paul spent his career in the family company, JB Martin, America's foremost velvet manufacturer, where he ultimately served as Chairman. JB Martin was founded in 1832 in Lyon, France, though its headquarters eventually moved to New York, where Paul was based. Paul was an avid reader, fascinated by global current affairs, and a loyal supporter of New York's sports teams. Paul is survived by his three sons Cedric, Andrew, and Adrian, and two grandchildren, Alexandre and Annabelle.
