SELNICK--Phyllis Solomon,

80, of New York City, passed away suddenly Monday, April 4, 2016. Phyllis was born in Springfield, MA on November 2, 1935 to the late Joseph and Anna Solomon. As a graduate of both Boston and Columbia Universities, she worked for many years as a social worker. She then went on to receive a degree in folk art and subsequently became a volunteer at the American Museum of Folk Art and has built a world class collection of Folk Art paintings. She is survived by both her devoted and loving husband Al Selnick, married 46 years and by her brother Marshall Solomon who will forever cherish her memory. A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 8th at 11:30am: Campbell Funeral Home located at 1076 Madison Ave in New York City, NY (81st St). In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested donations in memory of Phyllis be made to the Holocaust Museum, Ronald McDonald House or to the American Museum of Folk Art.
