Richard and I just talked a couple of months ago via email, catching up on old times. He never mentioned being sick. His death is a great loss to all who love equality and the environment. He will be sorely missed.

My parents were friends of Larry & Boots Grossman back in the early '60s. I remember later hearing my father talk about Richard. I never had the opportunity to meet Richard. We lost a great mind and great spirit! I am saddened that our planet has one less voice of sanity to fight the insanity. You will be missed, Richard.

Richard lay the foundation for so much of the work happening today in the spheres of corporate accountability, income equality and environmental and social justice. Thank you Richard. Annie Leonard, The Story of Stuff Project (storyofstuff.org)

I learned so much from Richard over the years. His clear vision was an inspiration to me and others. I still remember his pushing those of us on the National Council of Churches' Eco-justice working group to challenge corporate polluters more. He will be missed but his legacy lives.
