Age 94, passed away on June 13 in Boca Raton, FL. Beloved husband of Cecilia for 70 years, brother of Lucy and Sophie, and revered father of Arnold, Henry, and Alan. Adored grandfather of Eric, Adie, Paul, Sami, Brittany, Caroline, and Spencer. He was born in Chrzanow, Poland on March 27, 1923. A survivor of the Holocaust, he co-founded the ESKA bus line in Germany after the War. In 1950 he brought his wife and twin baby sons to live in New York City. Together with a childhood friend, Samuel Gross, he established Regency Creations in Greenvale, Long Island and became a successful manufacturer of fine watch cases and bands. He was an exceedingly charitable man. He was an early supporter of the "Valley of the Lost Communities" at the World Holocaust Remembrance Center at Yad Vashem in Israel. In later life he worked tirelessly for Akim, an Israeli organization caring for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Despite dreadful beginnings, he lived a full and rewarding life. His energy, generosity, and devotion to family served as a sterling example for all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, donations in Roman's name can be made to Friends of Akim, USA, or to Yad Vashem (https://secure.yadvashem org/donation/tribute.asp).
