LAMONT--Rosette Clementine, renowned theatre critic, author, professor and authority on Samuel Beckett and Eugene Ionesco died on January 5, 2012. She was born on February 15, 1927 in Paris, France. She earned her BA from Hunter College and Ph.D. from Yale University. She was a Professor of French and Comparative Literature at CUNY Graduate School\Doctoral Program in theatre. She distinguished herself as an envoy for the State Department's Scholar Exchange Program to the U.S.S.R in 1974; visiting professor at the Sorbonne in Paris (1985-1986); a Guggenheim Fellow (1973-1974); a Rockefeller Humanities Fellow (1983-1984); Decorated Chevalier, Officier des Palmes Academiques, Officier des Arts et Lettres in France and named to the Hunter College Hall of Fame. Later in career, she joined the Sarah Law- rence College Theatre Faculty till her retirement. A memorial will take place at Sarah Lawrence College on February 18, 2pm at the Donnelly Film Theater-Heimbold Visual Arts Center in Bronx- ville, NY.
