psychologist, psychoanalyst, writer, and teacher, beloved husband of the late Rita Frankiel, died Sunday, August 5, in Pompton Plains, NJ. He was born on December 14, 1922, in the Bronx, and lived much of his life in New York City. He is survived by his daughters with his first wife and their husbands, Laura Schafer and Gavin Black, Amy Schafer Boger and Joshua Boger, and Sylvia Schafer and Michael Dintenfass, and five grandchildren. No services. Family requests donations to the ACLU, Poets House, or , in lieu of flowers.
