The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art mourns the passing of Sandra Priest Rose, former Trustee from 2004 to 2009 and, with her late husband, Frederick P. Rose, generous benefactor to the school. As a long-time literacy advocate, Mrs. Rose passionately believed in equitable access to education for all students, and worked tirelessly to make that a reality in her work as a teacher and a philanthropist. In addition to chairing the school's 2007 Urban Visionaries benefit, she and her husband gave one of the largest gifts in The Cooper Union's history. Our condolences go to her sons, Jonathan and Adam, and the entire family at this time. Mrs. Rose's commitment to education and the arts will continue to inspire The Cooper Union community. Laura Sparks, President Rachel L Warren, Chair, Board of Trustees.
