STANLEY ROBINSON Obituary

ROBINSON--Stanley D., died at home on December 6, 2020 at the age of 94. He is survived by his three children, Nancy, Susan and James (Jenny) and granddaughter Zoe. He was married to Janet Robinson, beloved wife for 64 years, who predeceased him. A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Columbia College and Columbia Law School where he served as an editor of Law Review. While serving as an Ensign in the Navy he attended Dartmouth College and Harvard Business School. He commenced his legal career as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Southern District of New York. He joined Kaye, Scholer, Fierman, Hayes and Handler, became a partner, serving on the Executive Committee and heading the firm's Litigation and Antitrust Departments. In every legal matter that he touched Stanley displayed brilliant reasoning penetrating analysis lucid expression and above all, scrupulous integrity. Among his many accomplishments were his successful representation of Xerox Corp in what was, at the time, the longest civil trial in the history of the federal courts. His passions included worldwide travel, wine collecting, baking bread, old movies, opera and the St. Louis Cardinals. Above all, he cherished spending intimate time with his family. Memorial donations may be made to Equal Justice Initiative or Meals on Wheels of America.
