STEPHEN HOUCK

HOUCK--Stephen. Stephen David Houck passed away on April 12 with his family by his side. He was 73. His death follows a bone marrow transplant in a valiant and hard-fought battle against leukemia. Steve was both a recognized expert on antitrust law and a seasoned commercial litigator. A graduate of Princeton University and Harvard Law School, he was a partner in Donovan Leisure Newton and Irvine and later associated with other prominent New York law firms. Steve also served as Chief of the Antitrust Bureau in the New York State Attorney General's Office, and he was the Executive Director of the State Center, whose mission is to enhance state enforcement of antitrust and consumer protection laws, from its inception in 2005 to 2020. Steve is a Past Chair of the New York State Bar Association's Antitrust Law Section and served on its Executive Committee. He was a longtime member of the Board of Princeton Internships in Civic Service (PICS), an alumni founded program that provides Princeton undergraduates paid internships with nonprofits. Most importantly, Steve was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. Steve is survived by his wife Toni Lichstein, daughters Rebecca Houck (Nicholas Cohen) and Abigail Houck (Will Jaffe), grandchildren Caroline, Lucy and Noah, and his brother Rick Houck.
