PODOS--Steven M., M.D. We at The Mount Sinai Medical Center are deeply saddened by the loss of our dear friend and long-time colleague, Steven M. Podos, M.D., Professor and Chair Emeritus of Ophthalmology and Professor of Neuroscience. An internationally recognized authority on the management of glaucoma, Dr. Podos served as Chair of the Department of Ophthalmology from 1975 to 2005 and trained an entire generation of vision researchers and ophthalmologists. His leadership placed the department among the most influential vision care centers worldwide. Dr. Podos made seminal research contributions to the treatment of glaucoma and won many prestigious awards. The Mount Sinai family extends heart-felt condolences to Dr. Podos' loved ones. Peter W.
