WILLIAM KEATING Obituary

KEATING--William S. William S. Keating died peacefully on April 4, 2021. Born on January 10, 1936 to John and Marguerite Keating, Bill attended Xavier High School, Georgetown University and Columbia Law School. He worked for several decades as Associate General Counsel at the Interpublic Group. A lifetime New Yorker, he loved the opera, travel, bridge and summers in Southampton. His service to the community included sitting on the board of Goodwill Industries and volunteering at Doulas to Accompany and Comfort, the latter of which was the subject of a New York Times article (nyti.ms/3mCEfq5). He was a devoted friend and family member and will be much missed by all who loved him. He is survived by his brother Joe Keating and his niece and nephews Christine, Ted, and Peter Keating.

What a wonderful man. One of our first Doula Volunteers who brought such comfort to those he visited.

Bill was one of the first Doula Volunteers trained to visit people who faced the end of their lives alone. Bill was their friend until the end. Bill was kind, humorous and gracious. He offered his expertise and talents generously. We will miss him. Amy Levine, Executive Director , The Doula Program to Accompany and Comfort www.doulaprogram.org
