SPERRY--Ann, sculptor and feminist, died peacefully at home on November 27 of leiomyosarcoma. By her side were her husband, tenor Paul Sperry, sons Ethan, Joshua, and Raphael, daughters-inlaw Siri, Ilinisa, and Laura, and grandchildren Max, Cayesh, Milo, Solomon, Rebecca, and Diran. She will be sorely missed by her family and many recent and life-long friends. Ann's steel sculptures transformed toughness into softness, femininity and beauty. They adorn the collections of the Storm King Arts Center, the Skirball Museums in Los Angeles and Cincinnati, the Rose Art Museum at Brandeis and many others; her large sitespecific sculptures are installed in Seattle, Boston, Aspen, and other places. She served on the board of Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts and the Sculpture Center (contributions to either would be welcome) as well as in political campaigns from Eugene McCarthy's to Barack Obama's. A memorial service will be announced.
