PHILLIPS--Kit, formerly of Emerson, passed away Friday, April 30, in her sleep, at home in Maplewood, NJ. She was 95. Kit, wife of the late Murray Phillips, is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Rick Phillips and Barbara Canace of South Orange, NJ, Ted and Pat Phillips of Niantic, CT, and by four beloved grandchildren: Jeanna, Lara, Simon and Brennan. Born Mina Alice Mulford in New York City, Kit graduated from Cooper Union in 1934 and attended the Art Students League in NYC. A professional painter and sculptor, she started as a fashion illustrator in the 1930's, becoming senior fashion artist for the Maas Brothers department store chain in Tampa, FL.
