PERESS--Maurice.

The New York Philharmonic mourns the loss of Maurice Peress, Assistant Conductor to Leonard Bernstein in the 1961-62 season. A spirited, dedicated teacher, he brought his students to the Philharmonic Archives over the past decade to study Bernstein's marked scores, and his scholarship was instrumental to the Orchestra's 175th anniversary season focus on Dvorak. We extend deepest condolences to his family.
