LORENC--Irene. New York lost one of its greatest fans on March 13th - Irene Lorenc. Born on April 6, 1946, Irene was a child of Holocaust survivors, escaping with her family from former Czechoslovakia from religious and political persecution, building a new life in freedom for her family in Germany. No obstacles were ever too high for her to overcome for her family. Her powerful love, intelligence and commitment will shine forever in her family in New York and Munich. Beautiful wife of Karel Lorenc, loving mother of Edith and Jonathan Fassberg, Misha and Tom Fechtner and Tommy Fechtner and the most devoted grandmother to Ron, Yael, Gil, Sarah, Emily and Simon. Her courage, intelligence and love was extraordinary. She was laid to rest in peace in Prague next to her parents. Her boundless generosity and love will live in us forever. With love forever, her family.
