Zipper--Gerald Jerry, 84, died on September 28, felled by a debilitating brain injury after years of fighting cancer. Born in Brooklyn, NY he lived his adult life in Manhattan and Garrison, NY. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sheila, his adored sons Michael and Andrew, daughter-in-law Christine, and beloved grandchildren Noah, Zachary, Phoebe and Calvin. A gifted poet, he was published both nationally and internationally. He was an insurance industry entrepreneur and past Deputy Superintendent of Insurance for New York State. Jerry complemented his extensive knowledge of History with an active life in New York City politics. Funeral services will be held at Plaza Jewish Community Chapel, 630 Amsterdam Avenue, on Wednesday, October 1 at 11:30am.
