Barbara, My heart goes out to you today and everyday going forward. You have lost your soulmate, but I'm sure you have wonderful memories to hold close to your heart. I have fond memories of Charles sitting with the doggies out by the bay, and while walking them each morning he always had a smile and a kind word even on the cold & rainy days! He lived life to it's fullest every day doing the things he loved to do. Most of all he loved you and all your canine kids so very much. My love and condolences to all of you. Dear Barbara and the Smithen family,
Our thoughts are with you from NY. I'll always remember and be grateful to Charles for the time I went to him with an issue and he looked me in the eye and said "Ami, we trust you implicitly." I'll also always remember the image of him the first time we met - walking into the tasting room wearing a wet suit top and what had to be Barbara's shorts - ha! He was man of character and quirk, and I'm happy to have known him.
Barbara, please come see us in NY asap! We miss you.
Ami, Matt & Renny
