FRANK FIALKOFF Obituary

FIALKOFF--Frank, of Alpine, NJ and Crested Butte, CO, died peacefully Monday, June 8th after a brave battle with cancer at the age of 70. Known for his big personality and mischievous smile, he lived a full life that made an impact on so many. An adored husband of 50 years to wife Linda, father to Brett and Gabrielle, father-in-law to Heather, grandfather to Andie, Hannah, Jack and Thea and friend and mentor to countless individuals. He was the Chief Executive Officer of Haskell Jewels, LLC, the leading fashion jewelry company in the U.S. Fialkoff was raised in the Bronx and began his storied career in the accessories industry at the age of sixteen. He purchased his first company, jewelry manufacturer Albert Weiss, in 1970. Fialkoff joined Swank in 1975 as President where he founded the women's division. He joined Victoria Creations in 1980 as President, and later, CEO. In 1990, Fialkoff, together with wife, Linda, founded Haskell Jewels. Fialkoff was known throughout his career for his charm and tenacity. His charismatic leadership guided the fashion jewelry industry for decades. Fialkoff received the Fashion Accessories Benefit Ball (FABB) Achievement Award in 2009 and, in 2011, was honored with the Business Visionary Award by the Accessories Council. He was deeply involved with the Adaptive Sports Center (ASC) of Crested Butte, Colorado. He was an avid mountain biker, hiker and skier but what he enjoyed most was spending time with his family. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 16th, 2:00pm at "The Riverside," 76th St. and Amsterdam Ave. Contributions may be made in his name to the Adaptive Sports Center of Crested Butte, CO.

Frank was an industry legend, and great supporter of his many retail partners. I had the pleasure of working with Frank when he was CEO at Victoria Creations and then later at Haskell. We created many wonderful, successful events at Marshall Field's together. Frank traveled to our offices almost once a month, every month for years. He was a brilliant businessman, had a wonderful sense of humor, and always was fair to his employees and retail partners. Frank truly will be missed by everyone who knew him. I know all the angels will be sparkling very soon with jewelry Frank would not have it any other way. My deepest sympathy to Linda, all his children and grandchildren, God Bless, rest in peace Frank.

Very sorry to hear the news about Frank. He was inspiring to work for. He had a great sense of humor, and played the mentor role well. Always had a thoughtful word for the family. He was fair in business, honest and dependable. He was supportive from the sidelines, generous with his goodwill, fiercely competitive and always gracious and classy from across the room. He had a good heart. He will be missed and fondly remembered. My condolences to his family.

From my childhood memories.
