RHODA HOLZER Obituary

HOLZER--Rhoda,

65, died peacefully on August 10, 2016, in the arms of her husband and children. Born in Brooklyn, NY, to Milton and Beth Psaty, she grew up in Scarsdale, NY. From a young age she had an affinity for drawing and painting. After graduating Scarsdale High School she earned a BFA from the Tyler School of Art. During the summer after her Junior year, she met her husband to be, Stuart Holzer, whom she married in 1973. Married for over 43 years, Rhoda and Stuart lived in Briarcliff Manor, NY where they raised their three children, Brooke, Craig and Leah, and where she continued to paint and create art. Rhoda's artwork was featured in numerous solo and group gallery shows. She received a certificate degree in botanical illustration and watercolor from the New York Botanical Gardens, where she became an instructor for several years. Rhoda's beauty and goodness were instantly apparent to everyone she met. She cherished her family above all else and was a devoted daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. Rhoda is survived by her husband, Stuart; her daughter Brooke, son-in-law Chris Kienle, and their two children, Brooklyn and Charlie; her son Craig; her daughter Leah, son-in-law Ethan Mitchell, and their son Sebastian; her sister Carol Goldstone and her mother Beth Psaty (94).

It is with a heavy heart that I send my sincere condolences to the Holzer and Psaty families. Our relationship began in High School and continued through adulthood via my friendship with Carol. I will continue to have fond memories of my time spent with the lovely person that Rhoda was.

So sad to hear of Rhoda's passing. I got to know her when we moved to Briarcliff, although I remembered her as a little girl from Scarsdale.
So beautiful inside and out.
Condolences and love sent to Carol and Beth and her entire family.
