Constance Krueger Obituary

1931 - 2016
Constance Krueger (nee Alexander), wife of Harvey Mark Krueger, died peacefully at home on November 14, 2016 after a long illness.

Constance and Harvey were married 64 years and had four children, 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

She was raised in Passaic New Jersey, the middle daughter of Sidney and Jean Alexander, sister of Nancy Golieb (deceased) and Pamela Schlenger (Richard). She met and married Harvey while attending Barnard College (he was at Columbia). Her commitment to Barnard continued throughout her life and she was a long-serving member of the Board of Trustees. Constance and Harvey were active boardmembers of numerous charitable and philanthropic organizations in the U.S. and in Israel.

Constance is survived by her husband Harvey; her daughter Cathy Cohen (David Cohen) of Wynnewood, PA and their three children Rachel (Tiffany), Adam (Jordan), Alex (Deniz) and 3 great grandchildren; her daughter Liz Krueger (John Seley) of New York City; and her daughter Abigail Bialer (Arthur Bialer) of Short Hills, NJ and their three children Hannah, Peter and Michael. Constance outlived her son, Peter, who passed at age 32 in 1988.

A funeral service for Constance will be held Thursday, November 17th at Central Synagogue at 11:30 am. Shiva will be private.

Contributions may be sent to: Barnard College or the Peter Krueger Center for Immunological Disorders at Mount Sinai/Beth Israel.
