BALDWIN--Martha D.
Martha Denniston Baldwin, of New York, NY, proud mother and grandmother, devoted wife and loyal friend passed away at 82, on September 17, 2017. Born in Philadelphia, to George C. Denniston and Martha Averett Denniston, Martha graduated from Vassar in 1957. She lived in New York City since 1958, working for the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Christie's, and volunteering at the Frick Museum. In 1962, she married Henry deForest Baldwin and their loving marriage lasted until he passed away in 1997 from ALS. Martha is survived by her two sons and their wives Sherman and Alice of Darien, CT and Alexander and Molly of Bethesda, MD, her two brothers George C. Denniston of Seattle, Washington and Elliott A. Denniston of Joplin, Missouri and her five grandchildren. A memorial service to celebrate her life is being planned for December 3, 2017 in Roxbury, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Roxbury Land Trust, which both she and Henry served as Trustees.
