PHILLIPS--Almarin, economist, died on August 26. He served in World War II and taught at the University of Pennsylvania and elsewhere. Mr. Phillips consulted on major antitrust cases including AT&T, IBM, Alcoa and PPG Industries. He was Co-Director of the Presidents Commission on Financial Structure and Regulation, and a Public Member of the National Commission on Electronic Funds Transfer. He is survived by his wife, Anita Behrle Phillips; by four sons, a daughter, four stepsons, a stepdaughter, nine grandchildren and one great grandchild; and by his first wife Dorothy B. Phillips. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, September 14 at the Merion Tribute House, 625 Hazelhurst Avenue, Merion Station, PA 19066. Gifts may be sent to the Community College of Philadelphia Foundation or to the Free Library of Philadelphia Foundation.
