KARL MEISTER

MEISTER--Karl Hermann,

died of Parkinson's Disease at his home on November 20, 2018. He was 83. Born and raised in Fulda, Germany, he endured WWII as a child. In 1958 he emigrated to the US with $50 in his pocket and a scholarship to Georgetown University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He earned his MBA at the University of Chicago and then forged a successful career with the multinational corporations, Pfizer, Inc. and Schering - Plough. These positions took him and his family to New York, Florida, Central America and Brazil and back to New Jersey, where he was president of Schering-Plough Animal Health. He then served as President, CEO and Board Member of two publicly traded companies, Carrington Laboratories and Biodynamics. He was an active supporter of the arts and many community service endeavors. He was a Knight of Malta. Ever aware of the help given to him, he was a firm believer in seeing that the less fortunate had access to a good education. He will be greatly missed by his family and community. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Linda; his sons Christopher and Peter and their wives Ruth and Maria; four grandchildren Samuel, Clara, Thorsten and Sabina; and two step granddaughters Olivia and Clara. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, November 26, 2018 at 11am at the Church of Christ the King, Blue Mill Road in New Vernon, New Jersey.
