Frank was a wonderful teacher and person. I loved getting to class at the New Dance Group and hearing what song he picked and watch his choreography unfold and the week went on. It was magic. I think about him often and treasure my time dancing and enjoying Frank. A true gem.

Frank was my first jazz dance teacher. He welcomed and always encouraged me as he did all of us at NDG. He always had a great laugh and loved life tremendously. To this day when I hear Bill Withers´ "Just the Two Of Us" I start class warm up.
I am heart broken to hear of his passing. I think of him often. Rest In Peace my friend and teacher.

Frank was a wonderful teacher. I was primarily a modern dancer and he taught me much in his jazz classes at NDC. He even allowed me to make a mix tape for his warm up routine which he used in our classes. He was so generous. I love reading about his earlier life, and I am not in the least surprised as his talents and range. He leaves behind students and friends who love his memory.

What a great teacher he was, even for us non-professionals! I learned so much from him. He'd had a back injury, so was doubly conscious of alignment, posture, centering, balance. Not a dance class goes by that I don't remember one of his cues. Great music selections. Lovely alive and generous soul -- he even remembered me when I dropped into NDG several years ago. Peace out, old friend.

Dearest Frank, You were one of the most influential people in my life - always encouraging and always supportive. It was a joy to dance with you and an honor to substitute for you. Thank you for your years of friendship, for all you taught me and for all the opportunity to gave me. You were one of a kind, a true artist. You created a style of your own and a family of dancers who miss you greatly. Though our loss is monumental, you are now free to sing and dance through eternity. You will be in my heart forever.

Frank,
Ay no seas ordinaria! (Literal -Oh dont be so unrefined!)
You used to jokingly scold me to make me laugh.
As a reminder to never forget our good manners.
A reference to a long lost world you and Mom shared as children
growing up in Ponce, which fascinated me.
You were the brother life gave my mother,
the uncle I was so lucky to have,
and a father who brought order to Gustavos life.
You made 150 East 77 our Home.
Never once losing your good manners.
Thank you Frank.
Go dance my friend, free of the gravity of this world.
Love you,
-La Turi

Frank - you have a very special pocket inside my heart. You were my mentor, my friend, my dancing uncle. I am aching inside that I did not have a chance to say good-bye to you. I can still feel myself dancing your choreography at New Dance Group and hearing your infectious laugh. Your joy for life touched everyone you met. I feel so blessed to be able to carry your legacy of technique in my own jazz classes. I am forever grateful for your love and persistent faith in me. I will always remember having you with me on my wedding day. I love you forever my beautiful friend. Hugs and kisses from the kiddos. Besitos amor.

My heart breaks to have had to say goodbye forever to the man who had been my best friend, a roommate, and who had represented a real father to me, who walked me down the isle when Mark and I married, the man who mentored me about life, and the man who taught me everything about dance and life and how they intertwined - Life is a dance, so dance and live life with full commitment, energy, and passion. I called you, Big Daddy and you called me, Your son. I will miss the terrace cocktails and watching The Golden Girls reruns with you. I love you, Frank Pietri.
