Every time I look at something my wife gets from Pampered Chef I think of Marshall when he was starting The Chef's Catalog. He was a customer and friend of my boss Sue Baylin. I personally thought what he was doing was totally out of the box and different. But he was a pioneer in seeing that there was a need for his product's and developed a business that was a success before there was an internet. One can only imagine what he could have done if the power of internet access had been there from it's beginning. I personally thought he was a great guy whenever he came into our print shop to place an order. I admire his business savvy to develop The Chef's Catalog from ground zero. My condolences to your family.

So sorry Liz. So many memories from school and in particular around classes we shared writing and film. He always encouraged me to write. "Why don't you add to that Goldstein story?", he would often say and then make some suggestions. He was supportive of all his friends encouraging their creativity. Marshall was always till the very end working on a new book of photographs or another creative project. His ideas always kept coming.
He did not go gentle into that good night ...but raged against the dying of the light. I will especially miss our get togethers at film class and the discussions afterward. Too sad.

I'll always remember Marshall's eclectic art collection, his weekly movie recommendations, his wacky infectious laugh, and his wild impromptu tour of the City of Tomorrow. You were an original, Double M. Miss You.
Dear Liz . . . Heartfelt sympathy and condolences to you and all the family.

So very sorry to hear Marshall passed away. I loved his film classes. He was always interested in how the class experienced the movies and in the end I had a better understanding. I will remember Marshall as an empathetic, thoughtful, kind and generous class mate. He will be very much missed.

Dear Liz, We were very sad to hear of Marshall's passing. Only about a week ago he called and was so upbeat and sounded great and wanted to talk about Chicago sports teams- especially the Cubs. I met Marshall thru Bob Toben in the 1960's when Bob had an art gallery near where I lived in Chicago's Old Town. He was always an upbeat, creative person and I loved being around him and Bob and their friends. A whole group of us went to see a movie called "Bye, Bye Braverman" back in the 60's and when we came out of the theatre Marshall said "That will be us someday in the future, saying goodbye to one of our best friends." I'm so sorry to see that it's Marshall we're saying goodbye to. We are so sorry for your loss and all our love, Jerome & Julie
