DELBANCO--Kurt, 98, died at home in NYC on November 16. Born in Hamburg, Germany, Kurt fled to England in 1936 and settled in America after World War II. He was a businessman, art dealer, painter and sculptor, working as a creative artist till the last days of his life. His portraits have been collected by, among others, the National Portrait Gallery and the Museum of the City of New York. Committed above all to family, he is survived by his wife Mary, three sons; Thomas, Nicholas and Andrew, by his first marriage to Barbara Bernstein, their wives, Jill, Elena and Dawn, two stepdaughters, Judith and Janet (Andrew Lemer), nine grandchildren and nine greatgrandchildren. We will always miss his decency and optimism, his great grace. Contributions to Selfhelp Community Services, Nazi Victims Program, 520 Eighth Avenue, NY 10018.
