Dovie Lee Greene Jackson of Austin/Bastrop, Texas departed this life on December 23, 2018.

She was the daughter of Shellie T. Greene and Ruby O'Neal Greene (both deceased) of Odessa. Dovie was a graduate of Ector High School and received her BBA in management at UTPB. Jackson was the first African-American and first female to be named Deputy Comptroller for the State of Texas. She received the Distinguished Former Odessan award in 1998 presented by the Heritage of Odessa Foundation. In 2006, the UTPB Alumni Association honored Jackson as its 2006 Distinguished Alumnus.

Dovie is survived by her husband, Isaac Jackson; daughter Tracy Ellis Harrison; sons Isaac D. Jackson and Christopher N. Jackson; grandchildren, Shamar Harrison, Brittney C. Jackson, Briana Jackson and Dorian C. Jackson; siblings, Dr. Dorothy Greene Jackson, Shellie Greene, Henretta Greene Holmes, and Marilyn Greene Clark; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The wake/visitation service will be Friday, December 28, at 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 29, at 11:00 am. Both services will be held at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 2938 E. 13th Street, Austin, Texas, Rev. Dr. G.V. Clark, Pastor.
