Jim and I were in the same Air Force pilot training class in 1972, and then 20 years later flew together when I was a 727 copilot with FedEx. We had a great time working together; great memories shared!

I am deeply sad at the news of the loss of this dear friend. My sincerest condolences to Patti & the family. He spoke (highly) of you often. I will miss Jim dearly.I saw him about every 4 weeks for the last 6 years. He was one of my favorite clients, full of stories, opinions & political (Democratic) insights! 2014 was a tough year for me with the loss of my mom which he knew, so he chose not to share his illness with me. I plan to take that up with him when I see him again someday. Until then...

So very sorry to hear of this, had I known before today I surely would have attended the funeral. Jim was a great man and great inspiration, a consummate business leader, pioneer in negotiation methodology, and of course the sum of a myriad of his other accomplishments and experiences in life. Always guiding and helpful with his interactions, often accompanied with one of his great stories and always extremely proud of his family. I will always treasure my personal interactions with him over the past year and the insights gained from our conversations. My deepest sympathy to the family in your loss.

My heartfelt condolences to the Camp family and his friends. I first met Jim when we became classmates in the Air Force Pilot Training Program in 1972. There was never a doubt that he would be a successful pilot. So it was a joy when I joined Flying Tigers in 1978 and ran into Jim again as a fellow Tiger. Flying with Jim was always a joy; that big smile on his face was always there. I will miss you, Jim.

Even though I only knew Jim for a short time during his treatments, I was always glad to see him and felt like I knew him a lot longer. What a kind, loving man. No matter how bad he felt, he always had that wonderful smile for you. I was honored to take care of him. The nurses will all miss him coming in. Hold on to your many loving memories. Keep them close to your heart for comfort. Know that you have a very special angel watching over all of you.

Ahhh...the good old Tiger days! Many thanks to Jim for showing me a Great Time on EVERY flight...and all the good times at the Red Rooster in Manila....Jim was a legend in himself. I think all that any of us Pilots want, is for other Pilots to say that "he was great to fly with", and Jim....YOU were great to fly with!

I flew with Jim at Flying Tigers. Also know Patty as she and my wife flew together there, too. What a shame that Jim passed so young. He was an inspiration with his flying and with his significant business endeavors. I will miss him.

I first met Jim when I was a student pilot at OSU and he was a young flight instructor. I next ran into him about ten years later when I was a pilot at Flying Tigers and we crossed paths in the Chicago crew room one night. I recognized him immediately because he was that "larger than life" personality that you sometimes hear about. Over the coming decades we flew together some, trained together in the sim. a couple times and spent many nights in various bars around the world. Of all the things I could say about Jim the one I remember the most, and the one I think he would appreciate the most is, he was a good stick. Jim's flown West.
