It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Clifford D. Lomas, 64, on Saturday, September 14, 2019, in his home.
He was born February 6, 1955, to loving parents Bill and Ruby Lomas.
After retiring from a long career that started with proudly serving in the U.S. Army and continuing through his later years in retail management, he relentlessly strived to motivate and enrich the lives of everyone he met.
Cliff was predeceased by his beloved wife of 37 years, Paula; his parents, Bill and Ruby; and stepfather Larry Carey.
He is survived by his son, Shawn Lomas (Alexa Schlackman); Izzy (beloved and trusted service dog); his mother-in-law, Karen Prose (Jon Chilson); his brother in arms, Robert Dwyer (Janet Dwyer); his dear family friend, Kathi Schmidt; as well as many other family and friends.
To cherish his memory, there will be a greeting of family and friends from 10 to 11 a.m., the hour of a memorial service, Monday, September 30, in Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc. 197 North Maiden Street, Waynesburg, with the Rev. William Parker officiating. Interment will follow in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township, with graveside military rites to be accorded by Greene County Veterans and members of the U.S. Army.
In honor of Clifford's favorite charities, the family asks that, in lieu of flowers, remembrances be made in the form of donations to your local chapter of the Wounded Warrior Project or St. Jude Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
