Sandy: You were the best thing that ever happened in my life! You were a "civilizing" influence on me for more than 46 years! I was always so proud of your great accomplishments in the Federal government and "The Zocalo" (Babylon 5)! Love ya forever!

I am deeply saddened by Sandy's passing, as are her other colleagues in the Office of American Spaces. Sincere condolences to her husband Dan, and extended family. I am sure that memories of the wonderful talent and amazing sunshine that Sandy brought into the world, and shared with friends daily, will be with us always. Thanks for living among us, dear friend!

Sandy was a true professional. She was THE PERSON to go to for assistance with all AV issues regarding American Centers that I designed for 25 years. She was always ready to help regardless of her own commitments. She possessed the patience to work with those of us who were not technically inclined. She graciously shared her expertise with me long after the 1999 USIA/DOS consolidation which shows her dedication to the mission. She will be long remembered and missed by those who knew her.

My deepest condolences to Sandy's family. The world is a poorer place without Sandy in it. She was one of the kindest, most helpful people in our bureau. I'll never forget when computers failed -- at 5:30 in the morning! -- there was Sandy: with her knowledgeable, persistence and sense of humor, she always solved our problems.

Sandy played a major role in my enjoyment of Babylon 5. Her Zocolo newsletter was a pleasure to read and it was wonderful to find out that she grew up in Fayette County, PA just like me. Local girl did very well!! We are proud of her many accomplishments. I still remember our emails where we talked about the uniquely common aspects of growing up in Brownsville and Uniontown. Sandy, you left us too soon. Please rest in God's peace. Take care!

I was shocked and deeply saddened to hear of Sandy's passing. My heartfelt condolences to all her family and friends. She was truly a remarkable person who somehow managed to work a demanding, important job with the U.S. Government that often sent her to the far corners of the Earth, AND she delighted in spending time with her family, AND she also managed to find time to engage in what sometimes looked like a second full-time job promoting and supporting Babylon 5, its fans, crew and cast, AND she loved attending Washington Nationals games, AND I really did wonder sometimes if she was one of those people who didn't need to sleep.
Given that she was also a fan of other TV shows, movies and books besides B5, I hope she wouldn't mind me quoting words from another show (and spoken onscreen by an actress who was also taken away far too early by cancer) You know about death, that it's just a change, not an end. Godspeed, Sandy.

Dan, Jeannie, and Linda,
I was very saddened to learn of your loss. I will always remember her from the Jefferson United Methodist church and when your family moved there down by the fairgrounds from Brownsville, Pa. and also remember that she and Dan provided Mary, her Mom a wonderful home for many years. Mary always talked highly of wherever Sandy happened to be and Dans kids at school. You have my deepest sympathy on her untimely passing.

I worked with Sandy at USIA and the State Department for 38 years. We were colleagues and friends. She was the consummate professional and a good friend. Knowledgeable, helpful, resourceful, with tenacity, grit, determination, and a keen sense of humor. I shall personally miss her smile her laughter, her kindness and her willingness to go the extra mile...and, of course her endless supply of candy. Sweets from the sweet. RIP Sandy!

I am heartbroken by the passing of my friend and colleague of four decades. Sandy was the best of the best - a patriot and a true example of what public service is supposed to be all about. She leaves many devoted friends the world over. One would be hard pressed to find a more kind and decent human being. Today the State Department mourns one of its finest.

My sincere condolences to Sandy's family. Like many others, I knew Sandy from Babylon 5. I still have printouts of many of the Zocalo Today newsletters she sent out in the early days of Babylon 5. I met her at various conventions and gatherings. I have nearly 500 of her Zocalo Today/ ISN News mailings in my gmail account right now. She will be missed and hope she will burn bright in your memory.

I've known Sandy for over twenty years through the "Babylon 5" community and she was one of the first people to really gather fans together through her usenet posts, newsletters and ultimately her Facebook sites. I had the pleasure of meeting her in person twice and she was one of the most positive, enthusiastic and friendly individuals I've ever met. Know that there is an entire community that spans the globe who mourns with you today and that we will always remember Sandy with fondness and positive thoughts. May her memory be a blessing.
