Michael Francisco Janflone, 43, of Boca Raton, Fla., formerly of Washington, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2016, following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born February 3, 1973, a son of Anthony J. and Karen C. Janflone.
Mr. Janflone was a 1991 graduate of Trinity High School and a 1996 graduate of Duquesne University with a degree in pharmacy. After his work as a pharmacist, he began working as a chef and catering coordinator.
He was a compassionate individual with a remarkable sense of humor, who even at his most difficult times, was more concerned with the welfare of others. It was his hope that his books, "Long Sleeved Summers" and "Shoestring Theories," would serve as an inspiration to many.
An avid Steelers, Pirates and Pens fan, Mr. Janflone was a genuine, caring and loving person who believed in helping those around him. With a strong belief in God and Christ, his philosophy was "Do, and if necessary, use words."
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brothers, Tony Janflone Jr. (Kay) and Victor Janflone, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He leaves behind his much loved cat, Keller, aka Michaela.
Memorial services will be held in Boca Raton. The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
