In 1950, when I as barely 5 years old, Mary Hartline was my idol. Even then, I was a Mary Hartline "groupie", and watched the Circus every week. A neighbor knew how much I adored Mary, and on my 5th birthday, sent me a card "signed" by Mary Hartline. I remember it to this day. I believed she somehow knew me, and I believed she had really sent me that card. I'm sorry to hear that she has passed away. She was a beautiful, smiling, sparkling presence in this girl's childhood.

My mom gave me a Mary Hartline doll. She had sent away for it, so it was a complete surprise. I still have it and the paper doll. Eventually I did get a baton. Thinking of her family and wishing them peace.

Like thousands of others - Oh how I LOVED Mary Hartline ! My Mom was quite a seamstress and made me a majorette outfit exactly like Mary's. ( I never did master the baton) I even got to wear it one day to kindergarten for "show & tell". I'm 74 - Truth be told, to this very day, my beverige of choice is none other than - yep - Canada Dry gingerale. What a LOVELY Angel she surely is !

I absolutlely adored her. She was what I wanted to grow up to be like. I was only 4-6 years old and loved the Circus and the cards and letters from the audience. I am now 72 years old and recall her beautiful face. I hope I will see her in eternity. My best to the family.

My mother had a Mary Hartline doll! I remember she allowed me to play with it after begging and begging. My mother had become a majorette because of Mary Hartline. Anyway, I combed the doll’s hair! My mother was crushed. It ruined the style. I ‘ll never forget it. How she loved Mary! I am truly very sorry for your loss. She made an important impression on the girls of her era. May your hearts be comforted.

I am 72 years old now and have fond memories of watching "Super Circus" on TV when I was about 3 or 4...I remember Mary Hartline's costume depicted a heart with a line through it, hence "Hartline"! The ringmaster on Super Circus was Claude Kirchner. Such wonderful reflections of a far more innocent time thanks to the talented efforts of performers like Mary Hartline! My sympathy and condolences at this sad and difficult time.

My sisters and I used to go to the neighbors house on Sunday night to watch Super Circus because we didn’t have a TV. I loved Mary Hartline. My mother had an old bathing suit with a skirt on it that I would wear so I could pretend that I was her. RIP Mary.

I was one of the kids to be on her show. Broadcast in Chicago. They would draw for a puppy or another prize. Sadly I got a erector set. Which was fun to play with. As a family we would always watch her circus shows. Thanks for good memories.

When I was about three years old I got a set of Mary Hartline paper dolls--I still have them packed away in my garage. My mother also got me a red majorette dress and a baton. I never learned to twirl the baton but I adored Mary Hartline! Rest in peace, you brought so much joy to young hearts. When the wind blows at my house I can hear the theme music from "Super Circus."
