James John "Jim" Neate Obituary
James 'Jim' John Neate, 93, of Ocala passed away October 26, 2018. He was born to Harold V. and Catherine (Haberman) Neate on December 2, 1924 in Cleveland Ohio. He was a graduate of Virginia Tech. He was a long-time employee of Intrusion-Prepakt Company, advancing to the position of Vice President. He was a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, Marion County Genealogical Society, Marion County Scandinavian Club, and Lakeshore Masonic Lodge Number 307 in Madison, Ohio. He served briefly in the United States Coast Guard Reserves while in college and in the United States Naval Reserves for five years. He loved to travel and was an avid hunter, fisherman, reader and genealogist.
He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Marilyn (Bloomstrand) Neate; his daughter, Karen Sue Neate; and his sister, Dorothy Kaiser.
He is survived by his special friend, Peggy Jones of Ocala; his children, Terry and Pam Neate of Roanoke, VA, Marilyn and Jeff Wintrow of Wirtz, VA, Linda Neate of Margate, FL, Nancy and Ned Monaghan of Silver Springs, FL, and John and Alicia Neate of Dingmans Ferry, PA; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; and his brother, Donald Neate of Marysville, OH.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Baldwin Brothers, 954 East Silver Springs Boulevard, Ocala, FL 34470 with lunch following at the Monaghan home. Memorial donations may be made to Interfaith Emergency Services, Post Office Box 992, Ocala, FL 34478 or Hospice of Marion County, Post Office Box 4860, Ocala, FL 34478.
