Ocala - Madelyn Jean Hutchinson, 88, of Ocala, Florida went home to be with her Lord on May 6, 2018. Maddie was born in South Weymouth, Massachusetts to Ashley and Ethel Beals on June 26, 1929.
She was always an artistically talented lady who enjoyed woodworking with her husband, Arthur, as well as painting and card making. As Arthur says, 'There really wasn't much that she couldn't do.' And he means it, too, as he explains that Maddie really wanted a drill press for her birthday and that is exactly what she got - and she learned how to use it, too! She was very musically inclined as well, as she enjoyed musicals, playing the organ, and singing in church choir.
As for Maddie's other involvements with the church and her faith, she was a huge, integral part of the church's prayer chain, as she was quick to call other members on the phone tree and get them praying for a church member in need. No one would deny Maddie, as she was sweet, special and charismatic, not to mention very strong and resolved in her faith.
Madelyn is predeceased by her parents, Ashley Sherman and Ethel Elizabeth Beals.
She is survived by her loving husband, Arthur Robert Hutchinson; by eight of their ten children; as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held for Madelyn at Maranatha Baptist Church in Ocala, Florida on Sunday, May 20, 2018, at 6:00 PM.
