Ocala - Marianne Liles, 85, of Ocala, was born to Dutch diplomats Hank and Marianne Ionker on January 18, 1933 in Jakarta, Indonesia. She was called home to be with the Lord on May 9, 2018. Marianne was a concentration camp survivor of World War II after being held for four years as a young girl. After meeting Kemp Liles in Amsterdam they married in 1954 and lived in Missouri before settling in Ocala, Florida. Marianne worked at Ocala Breeders' Sales assisting with secretarial duties for several years. Marianne was a devoted wife, mother and oma.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Hank and Marianne Ionker; her husband, Kemp Liles; her son, Martin Liles; granddaughter, Lindy Liles; and her sister, Helen Zellsman.
She is survived by her brother, Otto Ionker; children, Gene (Becky), Lynn (Tim), Steven (Julie), Tracy (Milo), Robin, Kevin (Beth) and Penny (Mike); along with 17 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
Services for Marianne will be held at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home 910 E Silver Springs Blvd. Viewing services will be held on Thursday, May 17, 2018 6pm-8pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 18, 2018 at 1pm with burial service immediately following at Highlands Cemetery.
