Ocala - Ronald Senne, Jr., 82, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 9, 2013 surrounded by his family at his home in Ocala, Florida. Ronnie was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and lived most of his life in Grant, Florida.
Ronnie is survived by his loving wife and best friend Carolyn Senne and his sister Jacqueline Senne Newman of Melbourne. He was extremely passionate and proud of his family and children Sam Senne, Jerry Senne, Ronnie Senne, Jay Senne, Alice Senne Neal, Patrick Senne, his many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, niece Dolly Edwards and nephew Stephen Knight.
Ronnie was predeceased by Margaret Burnett Senne, his wife of 42 years. Margaret and Ronnie resided in Grant where they raised their six children. Ronnie was also predeceased by his sister Theresa Knight of Cocoa, FL.
Ronnie graduated from Melbourne High School and the University of Florida and is lovingly remembered for his hard work and passion for athletics and fishing on the Indian River. He founded Senne Lumber Company in Grant, Florida with his father and served as President for more than four decades.
Ronnie loved his friends, Brevard County, and his community of Grant. He is remembered for his tireless work to serve his community. Ronnie was always there to help friends and family with projects, community events, overcoming personal challenges, or whatever else they needed from him. He later moved to Ocala and embraced Carolyn's family as his own.
Ronnie enjoyed watching and playing sports especially with his children. He also enjoyed reading, music, poetry, and was a prolific writer.
Ronnie was a loving father, husband, grandfather and a generous and caring friend to all. He was well loved and will be missed.
A memorial service will be held at Shiloh United Methodist Church, 11020 NW Hwy 320, Micanopy, FL on Sunday December 15, 2013 at 2:00 PM.
