Our beloved Daughter, Sister, Aunt, and Nursery Leader passed away April 17, 2020 at the age of 42 to return to her Heavenly Father's loving arms.

Elisa Hansen came into this world physically attached at the head to her most loved and cherished twin sister Lisa. After much prayer and fasting and the inspired work of Doctors, Nurses, and Bio-engineers, at the University of Utah, they were separated at 19 months. During the separation surgery Elise lost the use of her right side. This did not stop her from walking, playing and enjoying life to its fullest. She enjoyed friends and family and worked at Walmart in Clinton for over 12 years where she will be remembered for wearing her various tiaras as a greeter every day.

Elise graduated from Northridge High School. She enjoyed Special Needs Mutual where she developed long-lasting friendships, that she and her sister Lisa had made over the years. During her employment at PARC (Pioneer Adult Rehabilitation Center) she met with Orrin Hatch and Rob Bishop in Washington D.C. on behalf of those dealing with special needs. She was the recipient of the ""National Evelyne Villines Award"" which she received in Atlanta, Georgia for her accomplishments in the workplace despite her many disabilities (which can now be viewed on Youtube). She was currently employed at Enable Industries. The family is grateful to both organizations for their compassion, love, and Kindness.

One of her greatest accomplishments was playing the lead role of Dorothy in the Special Needs production of the Wizard of Oz. The original show she and Lisa have viewed no less than a thousand times. She has been awarded many medals (mostly gold) in the Special Olympics. Despite all of her challenges (countless surgeries, physical limitations, and even going blind), she managed to never let them hold her back. She persevered and never let go of her positive outlook! Elise would say ""I can do hard things""

Besides family and friends, she cherished her best friend Keeley and their many phone calls and visits. She also cherished her boyfriend Joseph and good friend Jenny.

Some of her favorite memories are extended drives with her family, Special Needs Summer Camp, (especially the water fights) and Camp Kostopulos. She also enjoyed trips to California to visit her sister Shay and her family.

A special thanks to Dianne, Yvette, and Misty from Tender Care for their most compassionate care during her end of life experience. Also, a special thanks for all those who faithfully served in the Davis County and Weber County Special Needs Mutual. She was also served by the good members of the Clinton 8th and North Ogden 8th Wards as well as neighbor children (Brigham and Morgan) who read to her daily since she went blind.

She was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents Wendell and Betty Hansen, and Wilford and Ellen Smeding as well as many close friends that had special needs.

She is survived by her father and mother David and Pat Hansen, her four sisters Lisa, Shaylyn, (Marc), Nicole (Ben), Shelby (Adam), and her favorite brother Josh (Asia).

Graveside Services will be held Wednesday April 22, at the Ben Lomond Cemetery. As a family we wish to thank all those who have made Elisa's life so rich and full of love.

I know Elisa best from the summers we spent at Special Needs Summer Camp. She was smiling so often and building friendships. Elisa was always willing to help anyone. Elisa loved to see the success of others as she taught, encouraged and shared her talents with them. Paramount in my camp memories is Elisa's devotion to her sister, Lisa. Please express my sympathy to Lisa. Pat, I often think of you on your road less traveled. May you and your family know of my care and prayers for you at this time.

I remember the day they were born. My daughter was due that day but came 2 days later! I worked with her at Walmart and loved to see her smiling face. She was such a ray of sunshine. She will be sitting at the right hand of god because she has proved herself worthy. Loved her very much.

We have been sitting here with tears and much appreciation for the many years we had gone to our reunions and bonded with the twins. After Max' sister died(their grandmother) they seemed to need us and we had enjoyed their fun and sweet spirits as they clung to us. Gpa especially bonded with Lisa as she couldn't run and play with the rest of us---so he would sit by her and tease her and really get her to giggle . Elise followed me everywhere and she was in our camper more than anywhere else.

To all the Hansen family. I am confident that the angels in Heaven are joyful at Elisa's arrival. It is a privilege to have seen Elise grow from a delightful child to a gregarious young lady and then a beautiful woman. She came into her own personality and found her voice. I remember how she liked to take her turn reading a scripture aloud in Church meetings and how she loved little children and they always gravitated to her. Elise's lifetime example of Christlike service, both directly and indirectly, inspire me to be a better person. She has always lifted me up by being who she is. My heart and prayers are with all of you at this time of temporary separation.

God bless you Pat, Dave and family. This is a tender time and I know that you will miss that amazing lady. (I watched all the videos I could find on YouTube). Even though decades have passed, I feel a connection to those precious twins. Now she has graduated and will continue to grow and learn unhindered by the difficulties she faced here. I will always remember her sweet face and huge smile greeting me at Walmart and yes, even the pretty tiaras. She and her sister came to our sacrament meeting once with the special needs ward and left us with a most beautiful message and spirit. I am grateful to have experienced her life if only for a brief time in passing. May the Lord pour out peace and blessings on you all as a family.

Our family wishes to express our great love for Elise and your entire family. Elise touched our lives in so many ways. Listening to her answer questions and read scriptures in Relief Society when I first moved to Clinton moved me to tears and gave me great hope for Julias future. I will always remember that special experience. We love all of you and will hold your family and dear Elise close to our hearts forever.

I am sorry to hear of Elise's passing. She lived a life of happiness and giving love freely to all around her. The three years that I worked with her and as Lisa's aide were fun and times of personal growth for me. It was also challenging, and my eyes were opened to the role of parents of handicapped children. I admire every parent who has this responsibility and feel great love for them, for the care they give to these precious little people. They return so much unconditional love. I hope that you are doing well. Love, Laurel Gaskill.

I remember when Elise spent the night at my house with my little sister She wanted to open the roof and stand up in my car. When I explained to her that I would get a ticket, she quickly told me her dad was a policeman and wouldnt give me a ticket. I was privileged to also work with her at Walmart years later and I never saw her without a huge smile for everyone. I know my family will miss her. But now she and my father John can tease each other as much as they would like.
