Sue, Dave, Debbie, and Jonathan,
I am so sorry for your loss, but I know that you are all rejoicing at her presence in Heaven. We will all see her again one day. It was Brenda's father Dave who lead my sister Marilyn and I to the Lord. We also watched Brenda, Debbie and Jonathan until Sue and Dave were finished with whatever they had to do at church. We took care of the children in the nursery downstairs. I taught Brenda how to dial the telephone in Dave's office once night after church, while we were waiting for him. In later years when I substituted at Litchfield, I had Brenda in a class I taught that day. I know she will be missed.

I had the good fortune to have been positioned next to Brenda, in seating, thru junior high and high school, alphabetically. I saw she was a woman of grace then, in those early years. After having lost touch for some time, she recognized my voice while placing my order, she standing in line behind me @ Susan's Coffee in Fairlawn.
She was always a true inspiration and someone to aspire to be. God Bless her and her family.

To the Unrue and Burnham Family: On behalf of the class of 76' at FHS - I extend my/our condolences. We ALL knew then that Brenda was an exceptional talent. She was voted "most likely to succeed". The class was right. A lady with grace, she was class personified. I always looked forward to waving to her in the Stow/Kent parade. At our last class reunion she approached our table and shared a special moment of humor with those present - I will never forget. We will all miss you Brenda!....God Bless...

Dear Dave,

It is sad for anyone to lose a daughter, and for a family to lose wife and mother - but we take comfort that Brenda is now with our Lord. I have not had the pleasure of meeting her, but from what is written, she must have had a great impact on her community for the Lord's glory. To you and Sue, and the Unruh family, please accept our deepest condolences - may the Lord comfort you.

With love in Christ,

I was blessed with the good fortune of knowing Brenda in many ways -- politically, professionally, and most importantly, personally. I called her my lighthouse as she was constant in the light of love and warmth and faith that she exuded. I've saved some of her voice mail messages as you can hear the enthusiasm of life in her voice.

And, yes, Brenda... my God is Big Enough! Thank you for everything!

We were very saddened to learn today that Brenda had passed away and will be praying for Bob and the whole family for comfort and strength. Brenda taught our son, David, at The Chapel, Sunday evenings, for about a year, when he was a young boy. He loved her and I think she had a lot of influence on his young life. He and his wife and two little girls are now missionaries with Baptist Mid-Missions in Romania, witnessing of our wonderful Lord's salvation, to Gypsies, there. My husband, Ron, and I, David and Michael, attended The Chapel from l974 through l986. We were in the choir and sang solos and duets all those years. God be with you all.

To the Burnham and Unruh families,
I was saddened to learn today of Brenda's passing through a college friend. I met Brenda freshman year at Wheaton where we shared fun times, also sharing the same first name. I grieve with you yet as I read the articles I could find on-line, I am greatly encouraged that Brenda was a strong and outspoken woman of God. My prayer is that her legacy of faith remains in your family and that you each will be deeply comforted by the Lord's love toward you.

My family attended The Chapel in the late '60's and in the "70's. I have fond memories of the family and especially Brenda at Camp Carl. My sincere sympathy on her passing. But we will rejoice again one day soon when we will all be together for eternity. Brenda's testimony will live on and I'm sure many will come to Christ because of her unfaltering life.

Dear Unruh & Burnham Family: My 1st memory of Brenda: 1963...I was a teenager and I sat a few rows behind little Brenda & Debbie on Sun. evenings at church. They were little angels right under their daddy's nose as he preached. What a joy to watch her morph into such a stunning and amazing woman. I rejoice with you all on Brenda's new home, But, I am profoundly sad that you must be separated from her for awhile. My dearest prayers are that the Lord God Himself will uphold you until then.

I was a jury member for one of Judge Unruh's criminal trials in the fall of 09. We were having trouble decidng on a verdict. Judge Unruh took the time to come in the deliberating room to sit down with us and answer all questions we had. It was easy to see why she was so well liked and respected by many people. Afterward the verdict was decided, I stayed to talk more with her and she began to tell me about her current health diagnosis and how it would be the battle of her life. I just know she is making Heaven a little lighter with her presence. Prayers to her family and friends.

I knew Brenda for more than twenty years. I watched her grow from community volunteer to prosecutor to judge. In all that time she was energetic, passionate and honest. She truly emboddied a servant of God. Brenda truly cared about children, especially her own. Her family remained a high priority (all of whom she was extremely proud) no matter what her other community work entailed. She believed in servant leadership and was an example on a daily basis. We are all mourning with the family at the tremendous loss of such a wonderful human being. We are bereft at her passing, but know she is now without pain, with the Lord, and with him with endless peace.

To the Unruh and Burnham family,
I had Brenda as a camp counselor at Camp Carl when I was a young girl. I loved her laugh and I remember how her eyes would light up. I remember how pretty her hair was. I mostly remember the kindness about her. The genuine hugs and sincerity. What a loss for those on earth, but what a great gain for those in Heaven above. She was indeed a great woman - for all that she was and stood for. Peace- she said to find peace, she certainly had that in her strong faith.

I am so sorry for your loss Bob. Brenda lived her life to the fullest. My condolences go out to you, Brittany, and Brand. Condolences also go out to her siblings, and Pastor Dave Burnham and his wife Sue. The 23rd Psalm will help with your terrible loss.

Psalm 23
The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
He leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul:
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name' sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil:
For thou art with me;
Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies;
Thou annointest my head with oil;
My cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the House of the Lord forever.

I am so sorry for your loss Bob. Brenda lived her life to the fullest. My condolences go out to you, Brittany, and Brand. Condolences also go out to her siblings, Pastor Dave Burnham and Sue.

For thou art with me;
Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies;
Thou annointest my head with oil;
My cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the House of the Lord forever.

Had her for Jury Duty twice. Was such a sweet lady to us and always willing to listen and even joke around and share a laugh or two! Sad to see her go but will remember her always, she was a wonderful judge and person all around !

I have been a member of The Chapel since 1963 and watched Brenda and her sister grow up. She was in my sons Sunday school class and I saw a beautiful girl grow into a Godfearing fair woman. I am so sorry for your loss but remember she is with Her Lord.She is without pain and is perfect in His arms at His right side. I am disabled now and can't get out but my prayers are with you and your family.
