George Ann Wheeler, born to George and Frances Pala George on August 28, 1940, passed away at 77 years old on September 7, 2017 at Concordia at Sumner. A wife, mother, Yia Yia, sister, aunt and friend, George Ann was a strong Christian woman with an enduring love for family and devoted affection for friends.

Following 12 years of primary and secondary education at Our Lady of the Elms, she was proud to call herself an alumna. She earned a BA from the University of Akron. Those who knew and loved her admired George Ann for her tenacity of spirit and her determination. She overcame great adversity to prosper throughout her life.

George Ann worked as a successful real estate agent in Miami, Florida for over 30 years and was featured in the Miami Herald to honor her accomplishments as a realtor. She loved music and spent many years singing in the Old Cutler Presbyterian Church choir followed by the Sumner Singers in Copley, Ohio. Passionate about sports, she delighted in watching football, golf and the Cavs!

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard G. Wheeler. George Ann is survived by brother and sister-in-law Nick and Ruthie George; daughter and son-in-law, Theresa and Mikk Carr; grandchildren, Alexine, Tia and Willow; and son and daughter-in-law, George and Liz Wheeler; grandchildren, Benjamin and Jack; along with many other loving family members.

Family and friends are welcome to gather on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Rose Hill Burial Park Chapel at 12 p.m. for a memorial service. Inurnment to follow.
