One of my favorite memories of John was last summer when team 64 was eating in a restaurant after a race. It had just stopped raining and John called me out side to see something spectacular. I did as he asked. He said look up in the sky and sure enough there was a double rainbow, and John said, "Now there's something you don't see everyday." John was a sweet soft spoken kind man. The McGrath racing team will greatly miss him. He is now among the rainbows above us.

Dear Tracy;
I am so deeply saddened by your loss of John. Words will never express how sorry I am. You go on now, with no regrets, as you were such a loyal and loving wife. You made John so happy! And the way you loved and cared for his children, was like they were your own. You have alot of friends, they all love you, and you are in all of their thoughts and prayers. If you need something...anything...please feel like you can call on me. I am your friend!
As I end this message, I would like to share something with you my father shared with me, that I found to be so true.

" I know for certain that we never lose the people we love, even to death. They continue to participate in every act, thought, and decision we make. Their love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories. We find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared their love".

John, the ultimate in knowledge of his trade, and never afraid to pass it on to you. I go back to the days in the early 60s, when he worked on stock cars with John Roher in Wadsworth, and we also had some great times going out in the early 70s. I am proud to have called him a friend, your family can be very proud of him, too.

Tracy - my deepest condolences. I was so happy to run into you and John here at the track back in April, it seemed just like old times seeing you both. I was just remembering back when I had my rookie stripes on in the Truck Series garage and John was showing me the ropes. You and your family are in my heart and thoughts in this difficult time.
