Obituary Condolences

John P. Mazzola

John P. Mazzola, 81 years, passed away January 27th after a long and courageous battle with kidney disease.

Though at times he felt like giving up, he fought the fight for those who loved him. He was rewarded for his fortitude with a very peaceful passing, at home with his wife Rosina and his best friend and pet Suki. Rosina and John were married and partners in business for nearly 50 years and totally devoted to one another.

John was preceded in death by parents, Charles and Josephine Mazzola; brother, Joseph Mazzola; aunt, Frances Sottile; and sister-in-law, Gloria D'Amico. He is survived by his loving wife, Rosina; sons, Ron Miletti (Tara) and Ray Miletti (Ann); brother, Russ Mazzola (Ruth); sister, Casame Isaac (James); brother-in-law, Joseph D'Amico, and sister-in-law Angela Mazzola; as well as 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grand-children, and many nieces and nephews.

John was a very talented interior designer and entrepreneur. He was a pioneer of the downtown Akron revitalization, turning many an old and eroded building into sturdy, attractive apartments and offices. John was a restauranteur and formed a partnership with his brother Russ to develop Wally Waffle Restaurants which still stand today. Without a doubt his greatest accomplishments were in the field of interior design where he was recognized locally, nationally, and internationally.

For all those that knew him well, John is in a better place instructing all who are there the proper way to accomplish any task. He was the ultimate task master. He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.
