Mary Lucretia Phelps, 112, went home to be with her Lord on November 19, 2012.

She was born August 5, 1900 in Johnstown, Pa. to Andrew and May Miller. She worked for B.F. Goodrich during World War I, but for most of her life was a homemaker where she enjoyed baking and canning, but most importantly taking care of her loving family. Mary was a member of the Eastern Star and a longtime member of the Akron Baptist Temple.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Dennis Phelps; brothers, Earl and Walter Miller; sisters, Maude Miller, Freda Grace Price and Helen Ziants; and great-great-granddaughter, Faith French. She is survived by daughter, Cleta V. (Charles W.) Boyce; grandchildren, Renee (Robert) Winkelblech; great-grandchildren, Heather (Jeff) French and Andrew Winkelblech; great-great-grandchildren, Christian, Austin, Lucas, and Matthew French.

Friends may call at Bacher Funeral Home, 3326 Manchester Rd., on Friday, November 23, 2012 from 5 to 7 p.m., where service will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m., with visitation one hour prior, Rev. Ernie Kemppel officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of VNS, 3358 Ridgewood Rd., Akron, OH 44333 or the Akron Baptist Temple, 2324 Manchester Rd., Akron, OH 44314, in memory of Mary. So sorry to hear about your mothers passing. I am so glad I took the time to find out that you were my neighbors. I wish I had known you better. God bless you and keep you in His care.
