Tim Tausch

Tim Tausch, 62, of Silver Lake, passed away on Friday, January 29 surrounded by loving family and friends.

Tim was, in his own quiet way, a source of strength and encouragement to many.

Preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Rose Tausch; Tim is survived by his wife of 41 years, Betsy (nee Haas), and daughters Julie and Amy. He is also survived by his brother, Larry (Joyce) of California, and sisters, Barb (Paul) Whewell of Bainbridge and Cindy Tausch-Flores of Lakewood and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his immediate family, Tim was like a second father to several children over the years. He was a loving husband and father and he will be deeply missed.

Tim served in the United States Air Force from 1968 to 1973 and received numerous awards for his outstanding performance. He carried the skills he learned in the service into his daily life; he was a man of respect, dedication, and integrity. Immediately following his discharge, he began employment with Chemstress Consultant Company, where he worked until his death.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, February 2, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Rd. in Stow. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at Holy Family Parish on Wednesday, February 3 at 11 a.m. He will have a military burial with full honors at a later date at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to either Walsh Jesuit High School (Athletic or Arts Booster Clubs) 4550 Wyoga Lake Rd., Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44224 or to Mercy Home for Boys & Girls, 1140 W. Jackson Blvd., Chicago, IL 60607.

I grew up with Tim, or Timmy when he was little, in Garfield Hts., Ohio. We lived four houses from the Tausch family. My fondest memories were playing football and baseball with Tim, the long bike rides, and even filling in for him when he couldn't make his paper route. Tim's parents and his brothers and sisters all had an integrity and honesty that he obviously carried with him through out his life. A great part of me is the result of knowing Timmy. I was very sorry to hear about your loss. We've never met, but I'm sure Tim was a great husband and father.

I benefited from his leadership and hold many great memories…If Tim said “I got an opportunity” or the job description included “Piece a cake, easy as pie”…especially when amended with the “easy as pie”. Yoouuu juuust knew you had been had. Somehow we always delivered and Tim would thank us…”See, piece of cake” I’ll never take for granted the personal and professional sacrifices Tim made for the betterment of the Chemstress family.
