Anna May Flynn

Anna May Flynn, 90, went home with the Lord to join her husband, Ralph, and kick his butt for leaving her alone for 15 years after his passing to deal with their trouble-making, heathen children. After a long fight with old-age that wore her out in the end, she passed away Sunday, Feb. 8, 2009.

Memorial service will be on Friday at 7 p.m. at the First Evangelical Congregational Church (369 E. Woodsdale), where friends may call from 4 p.m. until service time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Visiting Nurse, 3358 Ridgewood Rd., Akron, OH 44333.

To the family of Anna May Flynn - -
I did not know your mother, nor do I know any of you, but it is obvious that she was a wonderful woman with a great sense of humor, whose laughter and love touched all those who knew her. I'll bet she lived life with a twinkle in her eye, and I hope you smile through your tears whenever you think of her.

A sense of humor at 90 should certainly be celebrated! Laughter is usually underestimated, I'm so glad your family decided to share it with all of us. My Mom called me and read me the obituary over the phone. It brightened her day and mine.

Grandma,
You will be in my heart forever and I miss you terribly. I have so many great memories...from us being at the "garage" with you and Grandpa almost every day growing up, to the time you took me with you to California, to all the times I spent the night, and all the times you came over to visit us....I have a LIFETIME of memories! I am happy that you are finally not afraid anymore and that you are back home with Grandpa. I'm glad I was always your favorite and I will cherish everything I learned from you. I love you.

Only a family of Really Ornery kids could have been raised by a mother of such humor that it passed on in spite of the orneriness. She probably just grabbed Ralph by the hand and went straight to the Good Lord to take him to task for giving her such funny young 'uns!

Mom,
I just wanted to tell you that I am so sorry for your loss. You have taken care of Grandma for so long and given up so much, I know she appreciated it (Angel). It takes a very special person to do what you did without giving it a second thought. All of us (your daughters) are here for you...just like you were for Grandma. Thank you for letting me get to know and love her for who she really was. I will always remember taking her for walks and sitting in the sun with her. My thoughts and prayers are with You, Pat, Kathaleen, Ralphy and Erin.

Dear Mom,
My thoughts are with you. The last 3 years you have been there to take care of Grandma both day and night.I admire you for your strength and thoughtfulness. Growing up in the same house with Grandma and Grandpa was an experience I will always remember. I know you will miss Grandma very much. I know you loved her very much. I am very proud that she was my Grandma and that YOU are my MOTHER.
To you and all your sisters and brothers my thoughts and prayers are with you.

It is hard to lose a parent but we all know that at some time in our life we must face that day. Just knowing you tells me she did as good job raising her 'heathens' as it was stated in the obit. I wonder did you sing a little louder when the yelling started? It doesn't take much for your voice to fill a room or church to perfection. I should know because for years we sang in the same choir.
May God give you and your family the peace and strength to get thru this ordeal. Remember the good and happy times. May she rest in peace. Our prayers are with you.
