Carol Seaver Obituary

STOW -- Carol Jean Seaver, 74, of Stow, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on December 23, 2011.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Perry and Marjorie Balcom of Milan, Ohio and brother, Eric Balcom. Survived by the husband she had loved for 56 years, James W. Seaver, Sr.; her children, Jill (David) Heffernan, Joyce (Barry) Barbas, Jackie, and James (Tracy) Seaver, Jr.; grandchildren, Cameron and Craig Fruth, Stanton and Allison Barbas, Jimmy, Dallas, and Makayla Seaver. Also, she is survived by her sister, Marilyn (Glenn) Seaver, Deborah (Dick) Warr; sister-in-law, Lois Seaver; along with nieces, and nephews.

Carol faithfully served her Creator, Jehovah, for 60 years as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. She had many talents, among them were poetry, art, crochet, and was widely known for her apple pie. However, when asked, she would say that her favorite activity was learning about and teaching others the truths of God's Word the Bible. Born in Milan Ohio, she was always proud to share that she was the 4th cousin of Thomas Edison.

A memorial service will be conducted by Paul Descutner at 7 p.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2011, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses located at 3924 Oneida St, Stow. Friends can visit with the family prior to the service from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. A private burial will take place at a future date in Milan Ohio.

Carol requested that her poem be attached:

I am asleep beneath the ground, I have no thought going round.

I died because of Adam's sin, Just as all his other kin.

God didn't snatch me as a thief, He never would cause so much grief.

Satan's the one we need to blame, To say God does this is such a shame.

In loving memory, God holds me dear, I simply have no more to fear.

After this world, a new one will come, During Jesus Christ's millennium.

In the Bible is where it's said

I am the soul that now is dead.

But I'm not lost, I'll live again Through resurrection by Jehovah through Jesus.

Amen

Carol's poem is so special. It reminds us of the truth we all hold dear -- that our God, Jehovah, will one day, through his Son, empty the graves. What a joy to greet our dear ones. We grieve with you, but we look forward to rejoicing with you when our loved ones come forth!

I will always remember Carol, as she was when I first saw her with her little ones in the Kingdom Hall. I always wanted to have children like hers, and in truth, I eventually did, and by her brother at that! I was truly saddened to hear about our loss of her but someone else's gain.
Rest in Peace, Carol. My thoughts are with the family at this time.

Your Sister-in-Law, Sue Balcom

Carol will always be one of my "grandmothers" in the Truth. Her smile, hugs, and good natured laugh I treasure as fond memories of my youth and young adulthood. Her bemused smiles at assemblies and conventions watching my family grow seem to reflect some hidden knowledge that I was going to get what from my children what I had given to my parents. Time spent in her company in her home and at auction helped me to appreciate the value of older treasures, both physical and spirtual treasures found in God's Word. I will miss seeing Carol, and my thoughts and prayers (as well as my family's) go out to the Seaver's and related families. I look forward to greeting her again soon.

Seavers, what can I say other than the "Seavers" were the glue that held the Stow Congregation together when I lived in Ohio. Carol always put together the BEST congregation picnics, square dances and baby showers, including mine. She was very talented and loving to everyone, always smiling and laughing. I will remember the paintings she did of my little brothers, how amazing they were. Thank goodness she will never have another bad day, when she wakes up she will be happy and smiling to see all of her friends and family. She will be missed...until we see her again. We love you all!!

Carol was a compassionate, intelligent, and talented woman. But what I appreciated most was her warmth and sense of humor. I can't picture her in my mind without a smile on her face. She will always be remembered. My love to all the (extended) Seaver family.

One of my earliest memories is of my Aunt Carol explaining to me and my cousin(the late Scott Seaver)the importance of being a sheep like one in Jehovah`s eyes. She was most certainly a sheeplike person herself and will be rewarded for this soon.
