Aunt Joan was such an inspiring and caring woman. Our family has had so many wonderful memories with you at Higgins Beach. We will always cherish the times spent with one another. You truly were a remarkable individual who touched many lives including the both of us. May you rest in peace. We will miss you dearly and your beautiful soul.

Thank you Aunt Joan for your never ending generosity in every way. Thank you for teaching me how to ride the waves, for the lollipops you kept stocked at the cottage and the rides in the back of the blue Buick station wagon delivering Higgins Beach Association flyers. Thank you for teaching me how to catch crabs, for the numerous "hikes" to Pebble beach, for teaching me how to smash bottles to make the sea glass that we would collect year after year. So many good memories, these being a few of my favorites.. I only wish I could have said this tto you before now you. Rest in peace.

All my life I have called you Aunt Joan. When I was young I didn't realize that we became “relations” by a bond and friendship your parents and my grandparents shared. I fondly remember Holiday dinners with you, Uncle Art, and Aunt Mildred. Those events were lively and Uncle Art always had me precariously and the verge of being in deep trouble with my parents! We loved the stories you told us about living in California and about the San Diego Zoo. You shared your love of animals and nature with passion. Most of all we loved Higgins Beach. I will always be so very grateful for your generosity and hospitality to my family. Some of our most cherished memories will always be there.
God be with you and may you rest in peace.
