Jerry Domokur Obituary
Jerry Domokur, 78, artist, found his peace February 25, 2014.
Jerry was born October 25, 1935 to Egnaty and Eva Domokur. He graduated from Greensburg High School in 1954.
He leaves to cherish his memory his brother, Donald (Rae) Domokur of Lake Milton; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Nada and brother, Pete.
Jerry's artwork has received much recognition and numerous awards in Northeast Ohio and much of the United States.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 9, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Summit Artspace, 140 E. Market St., Akron, Ohio. Family and friends will be received at Summit Artspace from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, if so desired, memorial donations may be made to Summit Artspace.

Mark margolis,jacquline margolis and truly marianne Middleton will remember you always. We knew you in the 1960's. Loved your art. We spent great driving times and shared New Orleans. Which was an unforgetable experince for me. I enjoyed our friendship, my memories are good. I received your art on computor too. You were a good man. Sorry we find not all share more time. Dear Jerry, I had a feeling and it's true. I waited for your emails but hoped it was my computer that failed. I cherish the memories and inspiration you gave me. Oh how I wish I had known. I wanted you to know how I admired you for being brave, eccentric, creative, your own person. Because of you, Mexico, art and independence live on in me. Rest in peace dear friend.

will never forget the times at your pond even though everyone caught fish there but me.
But the memory I will cherish the most is when Cody was playing baseball and looking out into the crowd I would see you there to support him. Never missed a game
I will never forget the kindness you shared with our family and the cookouts we had.
Jerry you will be missed and it was a blessing to us to call you friend.

Uncle Jerry,
The art that you have given me over the years hangs in my home! It seems to have a little bit more meaning to me now, however odd that seems. I picked out some of the art myself because it "matched" my room/ house. You made fun of that. You told me to get rid of my couch if it didn't match. You told me that I should like the art, for the art, not if it matched. Well, you got your wish. I will always like the art now. I no longer care if it matches. I am sorry I did not call you more. I told mom I would call you when I heard you fell. I told her I would call you the next day. I had every intention, but I did not. I will not forgive myself for that. Rest in peace. You are greatly missed.

Jerry Domokur has been a friend of mine since the early 60's. His drawings and artwork are treasures. Jerry was an amazing character. Truly, one of a kind. I'm stunned and saddened by this news. Sincere condolences to the Domokur family for their loss.

My sympathies go out to all of Jerry's friends and family. I only knew Jerry from printing his art. He was very patient waiting for them to get done while I knew he was anxious to get them. I truly loved and enjoyed seeing his work more than any of the others. Thank You Jerry for sharing your wonderful gift..until we meet again.

Jerry was my father's best friend when they were growing up on Summit Lake in Akron. That little street, Rothrock Avenue, produced a lifetime of memories. I hope that all of "The Goldfishers" from the neighborhood are having a happy reunion in heaven. My condolences to the Domokur family.
