Willie Johnson Obituary
Willie "Billy" Johnson passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Wednesday, April 16, 2014.
He was retired from Firestone Tire & Rubber after 30 years of service.
He was preceded in death by an infant son; his mother and father; brother and a granddaughter. He is survived by his wife, Eula; daughter, Theresa; son, Derek; two grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; sister, May Alice Yancy; brother, Ernest Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, April 24, 2014, at 12 noon, at The House Of The Lord, 1650 Diagonal Rd., Akron, Ohio 44320, Pastor Dennis K. Butts, Sr. will eulogize. Interment at Greenlawn. Procession will form and condolences may be sent to 633 Ardella Ave., Akron, Ohio 44320.

Is this the same Willie Johnson who won the AAU Junior Mr America in 1975? I know that young man was from Akron and worked for a tire company.

To the Johnson family,

To Eula Mae (Ma) , Theresa (sis) , Derek (my heart ) & extended family. ..You have my deepest condolence, I'm filled with both sadness & joy . "Sadness" because I'm going to miss him so much. "Joy" because I know he's in a better place , no more suffering. Dad was like a second father to me , we shared so many good times...he always had me laughing. I will always embrace & treasure his legacy , so powerful & strong & full of love & wisdom. Very strong man who took great care of his family.....Dad I love you !!
